Scrapcom

This project is a client/server Access database used to manage a scrap metal brokerage in Cleveland Ohio. It is a work in progress; the interface is being streamlined, and features are being added. Due to the complexity of the project, only a few key functions are shown below.

Features:
- The program allows entry of purchase and sales quotes or contracts.
- User is automatically notified of quotes that are about to expire and haven't been converted to contracts (need followup)
- Shipments are tracked against purchase and sale contract line items
- A summary screen shows the status of all agreements related to a job, as well as how much remains to be shipped
- Billing information is sent to Quickbooks for AP and AR functions.
- Originally, the program also handled a special "Swap"
agreement for a large customer, including generating a special report in Excel

Opening Screen

Scrapcom Agreements Window

Hitting the "Agreements" button shows any agreements needing attention.

Alarms Window

Each of the "alarm" buttons brings up a pick list of the contracts/quotes that need attention.

Agreements window

Clicking the "View/Edit" button to the left of an agreement pulls up the full agreement.

Throughout the program, whenever an entry field for weight or price per unit is selected, a pop-up converter
automatically converts and allows entry in any typical unit. This saves confusion and entry errors from entering
weight in the wrong units.

summary window

The job summary screen is a dashboard of all open jobs. Each job is automatically checked against a
customer-determined list of "problem" conditions, such as stalled movements, approaching deadlines,
erroneous agreements etc., and any problems found are shown in red under "problems".

Problem with jobs window

Clicking the "View" button lists all problems found with the job. The buttons on the main screen can be used to
view the areas of concern.
